Win Estimation is hard, especially for individual players. Really hard. So instead, we can use run estimation. For players, the most common strategy is to estimate the number of runs they were worth and then plug that into a formula for Runs Per Win and then boom, you get a win estimation. For teams, you can also do that. But there are also a broader set of strategies available. You can use projections (commonly simulation) in order to reflect the realities of a team’s schedule, you can use Pythagorean Record if you want a simple estimation of True Talent wins (ie wins against a .500 team), but it may not be as reflective of injuries, strength of schedule, etc.
